Great news! The 5S Campaign launched
in January this year culminated with national awards
conferred by the National Productivity Corporation
(NPC). In a recent prestigious award ceremony, group
companies of Elegant Group swept the grand National
5S Trophy and 2 other awards; a total of 3 out of
8 awards up for grab. The trophy and awards were presented
by NPC Chairman, Tan Sri Azman Hashim to Elken President,
Mr. A.K. Tan.
The trophy was conferred upon Elepac
in the Manufacturing category, while awards were conferred
upon Elken and Elken Services respective in the Service
category. Winners were picked by a panel of 5S experts
and auditors of NPC after a year-long observation
and series of stringent audits conducted on more than
50 other companies.
Besides fulfilling winning criteria
(i.e. arrangement, cleanliness, standard procedures,
visual management and communication effort) with flying
colors, NPC Audit Manager Tn Hj Shafee commended on
the strong management commitment and team spirit portrayed
by Elegant Group. A clear and achievable group 5S
Policy along with centralized and systematic 5S training
gave Elegant Group the winning edge. According to
him, Elken is the first and only direct selling company
to receive the National 5S Award to date.
